As a kid, Josh spent several weeks each winter skiing Vail with his family. At age 13, Josh came to Vail to visit his sister, who was a ski instructor in 1982 and, after a day of incredible powder with her and her friends, Josh fell in love with the idea of living in a ski town and, therefore, decided he would move to Vail after college. Nine years later, Josh moved to Vail in 1991 and taught skiing for 10 years. He quickly moved up in the ranks to Trainer for the Vail/Beaver Creek Ski School. In addition, Josh has been a world-class competitor in Powder 8 skiing. He and his partner won the European Powder 8 Championships in 1997 in Samnaun, Switzerland and the Eastern Powder 8 Championships in Jay Peak, VT. But, despite his love for teaching, in 1999, Josh decided it was time for something new. Coming from teaching skiing, where the focus is always on the needs of the student, he thought selling real estate would be the perfect segue. He was able to quickly apply the same customer service skills he had learned to provide his students to his clients in the real estate business. Whether negotiating a black diamond or a sales contract, Josh has always ensured his charge will always have him by their side to make it to the end result safely and successfully and always enjoy the way there.  In 2006, Josh joined the illustrious real estate firm, Sonnenalp Real Estate, in Vail Village, and, soon afterwards, his career took off. In 2009, Josh and his business partner, Tyra, purchased Sonnenalp Real Estate and then, in 2015, the two partners decided to join the prestigious Engel & Völkers. As a License Partner and Managing Broker of Engel & Völkers Vail-Beaver Creek, Josh has seen his and the company's success grow exponentially.  Since 1999, Josh has strived to provide each and every client with the utmost in personal service and attention to detail. He has acted in every transaction with integrity and honesty and as a true advocate for his clients every step of the way. Look for Josh out in the Back Bowls of Vail with his friends and family or on his bike riding the legendary mountain biking trails throughout the Vail Valley.  Although Josh always works hard for his clients, he never forgets why he moved here in 1991 - to live the Vail lifestyle! He lives in Edwards with his wife Christina, daughter Hannah, and son Sam.
